The Geography Lady began when Alycia Larson realized that children weren't learning enough about the world in school. She met too many people who weren't sure what city they lived in, thought anyone speaking Spanish was from Spain, and anyone from Asia was Chinese. She slowly started integrating geography into other activities and found that her students really responded to maps and pictures of different places and people, especially pictures of other children. Creating and presenting programs through the Free Library of Philadelphia summer reading programs and as the Language teacher at Moonstone Preschool, Alycia has been able to introduce different cultures and countries to people of all ages. Now as the Geography Lady, she has presented programs at Lilypad, Baby Word Play, Christian Street and West Philadelphia YMCA, PlayArts, Project P.L.A.Y., Smith Memorial Playground, Jewish Family and Children Services, Active Day, The Giving Tree, The Muslim Homeschooling Co-Op of South Jersey, Beehive at Bok, CubSocial, Social Play Preschool, The Schwartz Preschool, Shot Tower Rec Center, Fishers of Knowledge, Gold Star Park, and the Center City District

Alycia is excited to present these programs all over the Philadelphia region and beyond. Contact her about presenting a program today!
